01 Domestication of raw materials

02 Physical and chemical properties of PEEK materials

(1) A lower elastic modulus close to that of bone (PEEK about 3.8 GPa, cancellous bone 3.2-7.8 GPa, cortical bone 17-20 GPa, titanium alloy TC4 about 110 GPa) can prevent stress shielding effect and maintain the original strength of the surrounding bone.(3) Excellent corrosion resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Even if exposed to hot steam, ethylene oxide and gamma rays for a long time, it can still maintain its original properties. It can be used for a long time at a harsh temperature of 250°C, and the instantaneous use temperature can reach 300°C.

02 Production of PEEK catheters

At the same time, the catheters must undergo a lot of post-processing such as ring printing, end sealing, expansion, punching, and fixed bending. Currently, domestic manufacturers of PEEK catheters include Junhua PEEK and Fujian Anping.ConclusionPEEK is an indispensable key material for the development of high-end science and technology.
